The cultural experiences HZ Cult gave me

One of the things that you, as a future student, might take into consideration, is the size of the city. It is not that big. You might ask yourself: “Would I get bored? Are there enough cultural activities that I can participate in?” Well, let me tell you that: yes, there are! If you are open minded and a sociable person, there are definitely many wonderful things that you can do. And especially with a little help from HZ Cult.

Cultural experiences via HZ Cult
Apart from regular activities, like spending time with friends, going to the beach, watching movies, cooking together, going shopping and many other things; you can also benefit from HZ Cult. Now you might wonder what this is. HZ Cult organizes cultural activities for HZ students. Let me put it this way… as a member of HZ Cult you get discounts to different cultural activities such as films, theatre, music, excursions, city trips and concerts. And, on top of that, you can also get study credits for it. Isn’t this a great way to meet new people and also earn credits?

If you are the introverted type, if you are scared that coming here and trying to adapt might be too hard or if you feel like you don’t have the courage to take initiative and socialize, HZ Cult will definitely help you. The cultural activities that they offer are in both English and Dutch, but if you want to get to know more about what they can offer; have a look at the HZ Cult webpage.

My night turned out to be better then I thought
So far, I only participated in a few activities offered by HZ Cult and I can tell you that this is the way I made some of my best memories. Do you know that feeling you are about to join an activity on your own and you are not sure what to think of it? And at the end it turns out to be way better than expected? Well, this is what happened to me. I got the chance to meet so many new people with whom I was sharing ideas, views and beliefs – I didn’t regret I went.

Extra credits
Another advantage that I had while participating in those activities were the extra credits that I received. You might think that 0,10 or 0,20 per activity are not much, but trust me, that when they add up, they might come in handy. First year, the extra credits do not help that much, second year maybe again. But then the third year, when you go to your minor, and if by any mischance you don’t receive all the credits, you can for sure compensate with your extra credits.

Well, I hope that I might have triggered your attention even if only for a bit and that I raised your interest in what this amazing opportunity can bring you. I know that maybe now, making this decision of moving out from your parents place, being independent and doing everything on your own might seem a bit scary, but trust me, you are not alone. We are all in this together and we are here for YOU! So stop thinking of what if, and start your journey at HZ University of Applied Sciences :D.
