How living abroad will change your life

Hello you there! Living abroad, have you ever thought how great it could be? How many new experiences it could bring you? How many new places you could visit? Well, if you have answered “yes” to all those questions, then you came to the right place. My name is Tiago Sousa, and I’ve been living abroad for more than a year and a half now. In this blog, I will tell you how living abroad will change you and your life forever. Come aboard!

A whole new vision
Someone once told me that life is nothing but a personal perception of reality. I never truly understood what it meant until I moved out of my home country. Living abroad has allowed me to see how people think so differently from each other and how this way of thinking differs from country to country. This has shown me that I only knew so little about the world I live in.
In fact, I knew nothing. And I still don’t. So here goes an advice. Go abroad and create yourself a vision free of preconceived ideas.

Responsibility

Maybe you’re reading this blog because you’re about to move out. Or, perhaps, you’re just looking for good arguments to convince your parents to let you move abroad! Or maybe both!
Now, it doesn’t matter how old you are, living abroad requires a lot of responsibility. Imagine, you are in a whole new country. Maybe you don’t even speak the native language. And on top of that, now you must be the one cooking and doing your laundry! In other words, when living abroad, you only depend on yourself to get things done. No mom, no dad. So, by the time you get back to your native country, you can expect to be way more mature and independent. Now rush, go tell this to your parents!

People
adventure-atlas-background-1051073It doesn’t matter when nor where you go. Everything will always turn around one simple thing – People.
People will be the ones responsible for making your stay worthwhile. When you’re abroad, you connect more easily with people. Why? Well, you have a story. And good stories always bring people together. From my experience, I can tell you that when I’m travelling, I often come across amazing people. Sometimes people that I will never see again. But that’s the beauty of life, right?

Experiences
Now, you don’t necessarily need to be abroad to have some amazing experiences. To be honest, you can have them anywhere in the world. But allow me to tell you one thing. When abroad, you will have moments that you would never possibly have in your home country. Why? Because that is your comfort zone. And comfort zones will never bring you all the exciting experiences you could have somewhere else.

In conclusion, I’m not trying to force you to go and create yourself a life abroad. However, I hope this blog helps you rethink a bit the way you live and if you want to explore a bit more the world we live in, I hope it gives the right arguments to do so. And remember, life can only be what you want it to be!

See you later and thanks for reading!
