How non-EU students can apply for a bachelor's at HZ

Once you have decided you would like to study in Europe, you need to figure out how to apply for a bachelor's. We would love to welcome you at HZ and, therefore, here is a step by step guide through the entire application process for non-EU students.

Do you want to find out if HZ is the right university for you? Talk to an advisor!

1. Make sure you are ready to apply
If you want to make sure you will be admitted, please check the admission requirements before you apply.

2. Apply via studielink.nl
www.studielink.nl is the Dutch online application system for higher education. Go to the site and click on the British flag to go to the English part of the site. Apply for a username and password. Once you have these, you can log in and apply for one of HZ’s Bachelor’s programmes.

3. Submit info to HZ
Once you have applied via Studielink.nl, HZ’s administration system will send you an email with a link to the HZ International Student Administration System. You will receive this email within one week after your application via Studielink.nl. You can then complete your application by attaching the required documents to your file.

4. Conditional Letter of Acceptance
Once you have submitted all documents and information required and our application file is complete, we will inform you about your admission within two weeks. We will then send you a Conditional Letter of Acceptance, if your records meet the admission requirements.

5. Visa
After you have completed the application process, the HZ student office will apply for your visa, if you need one. A visa is required for all non-EU students, except students from Switzerland, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea or Japan. You will receive a residence permit for the entire period of your studies (with a maximum of 5 years).

Need help during your application?
If you need any help or have any questions during the application process, please do not hesitate to contact our Student Office via csa@hz.nl.

When to start your application
The application procedure opens in October. If you have not graduated yet, you can still apply. We will then inform you on your admission based on your last transcript of records. It is strongly recommended that you apply before 1 May. This will give you plenty of time to find a room and make other arrangements. The final closing date for application is 15 June for non-EU students.

If you have questions about the applications process or anything else, I am happy to help you out
